Toastmaster Extra Large 48L Oven TM-160TR Instruction Manual

Before First Use

Before first use, remove any packing materials and wipe the body of your Toaster Oven with a damp cloth. Remove wire rack, removable crumb tray, 16-inch pizza pan and baking pan. Wash wire rack, crumb tray and pans in hot, soapy water, and dry thoroughly.

Place oven on a flat, heat-resistant surface. Position oven at least 3 inches away from the wall or rear of counter. Make sure that nothing has been placed on top of the oven. Ensure the crumb tray is in the proper position before using.

Plug the cord into a 120 volt, 60 HZ AC outlet. Turn on the oven to 450°F for 15 minutes with the door closed. This will burn off any residue or oils still on the oven or elements. The oven may smoke during this process – this is normal for a new oven.

Once cooled, your oven is ready for use. When baking or cooking, carefully place food either directly on the wire rack with a pan underneath to catch any drips or on the included pans/dishes. Monitor cooking closely to avoid overcooking.

How to Use Toastmaster Extra Large Oven

A solid surface countertop can easily become damaged from heat exposure. Always use a trivet or hot pads when operating the oven. Never place hot cookware directly on the countertop.

Baking/Broiling/Warming:

  1. Place food to be cooked either directly on wire rack with a baking pan underneath or in the included bake pan/casserole dish. Position food so it does not touch the upper heating elements.
  2. Close the oven door. Select desired function (Bake/Broil/Warm) using the function button.
  3. Set the desired temperature and cook time using the temp and time buttons along with the selection dial.
  4. Press Start/Stop to begin cooking. Allow oven to preheat before placing food inside if starting from a cold oven.
  5. Use oven mitts to carefully check food at half cook time. Turn food (if broiling) or stir if necessary.
  6. When the timer goes off, oven will turn off automatically. Carefully remove food using mitts.

Pizza:

  1. Place wire rack in oven and set pizza on included pizza pan. Slide onto rack.
  2. Follow temperature and cook time settings as above, using the Pizza function.
  3. Carefully remove pizza when timer finishes.

Toasting:

  1. Place bread directly on wire rack and close door.
  2. Select Toast function. Choose desired level of toast.
  3. Select number of slices being toasted.
  4. Toaster oven will turn off automatically when cycle finishes.

The convection button can be used with any cooking function to increase air circulation. Press start/stop at any time to end cooking early if desired.

How to Clean Toastmaster Extra Large Oven

Unplug the oven and allow it to fully cool before cleaning. Never immerse the oven in water or other liquids.

After each use, clean the interior with a damp cloth or sponge to remove any food residue or grease splatters once the oven has cooled. For tough stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner.

To deep clean:

  1. Allow oven to fully cool, then remove wire rack, crumb tray, and all bakeware.
  2. Wash removable parts in warm soapy water using a soft cloth or sponge. Dry thoroughly before replacing in oven.
  3. Use a cloth dampened with all-purpose cleaner to wipe down the interior oven walls. Pay special attention to upper heating elements to remove baked-on residue.
  4. Ensure crumbs and food debris are removed from the crumb tray. Missed debris can smoke or cause overheating issues.
  5. Avoid metal scouring pads during cleaning – pieces can break off and cause electrical issues.
  6. Allow all oven surfaces to dry fully before plugging back in or returning parts/bakeware.

Once cooled, store your toaster oven unplugged in a clean, dry location. Avoid storage in moist areas. Before returning to use, follow the “before first use” instructions.
